Description

Do you want this dresser? Too late, someone beat you to it!

American of Martinsville is a well-known company that has an extensive history and is still producing furniture today. It was founded in 1906 by Virginia tobacco producers. In the 1950s, as the company grew, so did its reputation for styling and design leadership. With a variety of designs; the company continued to expand its offerings to cover the living room, dining room occasional and bedroom furniture, in both wood and upholstered furniture.

American of Martinsville’s mid-century furniture is well known for the Danish modern styling and high-quality pieces. These bleached mahogany pieces were produced during the 50’s and 60’s and are some of the rarest of the lines that they manufactured. As you can see in the last picture of a vintage magazine ad, it explains that the line named Bali-Hi group was designed by Merlon L. Gershun. The mahogany was given a distressed bamboo finish to achieve this look.

This awesome petit dresser is in great vintage condition with minimal wear on the top, edges and legs. It has 3 drawers with a worm-wood finish. the top has been refreshed a little bit which makes it slightly a lighter color.

Measurements: 38″ x 21″ x 30″ high.
