Posing proudly with a new purpose this is a floating top walnut Mid Century Modern desk and chair made by Hooker, as the label inside indicates. Several of the series by Hooker were popular from the late 1950’s to the mid 1960’s and featured an American made take on Danish design. The desk is made from a mixture of solid walnut and walnut veneer over a hardwood base. There is plenty of storage by way of 3 drawers. The top part has two different surfaces which add to its beauty and style. A storage area / shelf is a useful feature on the back part of the floating desk. The back side of the desk has been nicely finished. There are a few minor nicks and scratches that are revealed through the photos. Other than that there is nothing else worth noting. This gem measures 54” long by 22” wide by 29 1/2” tall. Still stylish today this vintage desk still has cool appeal and it comes with a matching chair.
