The company who made these flashy dramatic lamps was called Majestic Lamp and Radio Co. They were producing their most inspired designs during the mid- to late 1950s. Majestic lamps from the 1950s have a devoted following. These devotees recognize high design and they know that they are hard to come by.
This double shaded, curvaceous floor lamp stands 59.5” tall. The wood base is 16” long by 9.5” wide. The branching, far reaching, fabulous fiberglass shades measure 21” long by 16” wide. It’s in great shape for being 60 plus year’s old. As you can see by the photos; slim bands of brass finished steel support organic shaped wood details. The shape of this Majestic lamp suggests energy, liveliness and it regularly gets noticed and talked about when encountered in our studio. Interesting, how can a form, a series of static shapes do this for over 60 years.
