Ann Cochran pottery box

Description

This lovely teardrop shaped pottery box is signed ”Hand Painted California Original by Ann Cochran”. Cochran was originally a ballerina with the Metropolitan Opera Ballet turned artist and what a great artist! She worked in North Hollywood California, and was better known for her paintings and prints. Ann Cochran was active in southern California in 1940, where she designed and painted pottery.  Her diverse painting subjects include clowns, circus scenes, and floral still life.   She died in NYC in 1968.   The box is 12 ½” x 7” x 2”. It is in perfect condition and a great addition to anybody’s collection.
