Frederic Weinberg African sculpture

This abstract sculpture of an African man accented with black enamel; is mounted on a black lacquered base and it was designed by the well known Frederic Weinberg. The metal is in great vintage condition with minor signs of wear. The base has some spots but could be easily repainted. Weinberg was a Philadelphia designer who was best known for his figurative wire and fiberglass wall sculptures but he also produced clocks, lamps and furniture for homes and businesses.This nice example of his work measures 19″ tall and the base is 5″ wide. If you see the sculpture from a side profile it is completely flat which makes it so interesting considering there are lots of right angles in the metal from the front.
