Posing proudly with a new purpose this is a newly refinished floating top walnut desk from Hooker Mainline. The ‘Mainline’ series by Hooker was popular from the late 1950’s to the mid 1960’s and featured an American made take on Danish design. The desk is made from a mixture of solid walnut and walnut veneer over a hardwood base. There is plenty of storage by way of four drawers. Two drawers are hidden behind the caned front sliding door. This sliding door is a single panel and one set side or the other will always be exposed. Storage compartments are neatly concealed beneath the floating desk top. The back side of the desk has been put into service as well with a nice built in book shelf. There are a few minor nicks and scratches that are revealed through the photos. The caned covered door looks repaired but looks and works great. Other than that there is nothing else worth noting. This gem measures 54” long by 25” wide by 30” tall. Still stylish today this vintage desk still has cool appeal.
