A campaign desk is an antique desk of normal size which was used by officers and their staffs in rear areas during a military campaign.   It was in general handcrafted by a master cabinet maker according to the officer’s wishes or following traditions for such desks. The desk forms varied greatly, but nearly all had as a common trait several features which made it easy to transport them from one campaign posting to another. Including a detachable top, removable legs, detached drawers or other cabinets for storing important papers.

This particular campaign desk is made with a driftwood top that features 3 small drawers on 2 sawhorse like legs made of chrome. The hardware tells me it is not too old but it certainly has a wonderful and timeless look. It would be very easy to fit into any décor. I have seen them in different magazines as vanities, desks and console tables. It has a couple of spots that show signs of its previous life and what I consider a manufacturing repair (see pic 3). It as been refinished with a dark walnut color, follow us on Instagram to see the pictures of the process Instagram.com/gre_stuff

Measurements of the campaign desk:

It is 59″ long by 23 1/2″ deep by 30″ high.
